Description

Red | Château Coudray-Montpensier | Cabernet Franc | Chinon | 2018

The impressive Château Coudray-Montpensier dates back to the 14th century and was where Joan of Arc stayed during the Hundred Years’ War! Today, the Château is known for making excellent wines in Chinon. Sourced from some of the finest plots of Cabernet Franc, this wine has a lovely purity of red fruit on the nose with excellent freshness from the limestone-based soil.

Red | Boulevard Napoleon | Cinsault | Languedoc | 2018

This wine is made by the people behind London’s infamous St John’s restaurant. From the Languedoc, this is a classic expression of Cinsault grown on the dry, stony slopes of the south of France with vibrancy and definition that marks it out from the crowd.

Red | Frédéric Berne Pierre Beaujolais Lantignié Bleue | Gamay | Beaujolais | 2018 |  V  VG

Frédéric Berne is a rising star in Beaujolais who strongly believes that Lantignié has the potential to become the eleventh cru of Beaujolais. From the Eastern side of Lantignié where the soils are predominantly clay, this wine is elegant and fragrant, with notes of blackberry and cherry compote

Red | La Croix Gratiot ‘Les Zazous | Pinot Noir | Languedoc | 2018 |  PB  PO  V  VG

Made by young winemaker, Anaïs Ricome, this Pinot Noir punches well above its weight. The grapes come from the Côteaux du Languedoc where the sea breezes temper the warm Mediterranean climate. This fruit forward, elegant pinot noir, with lifted aromatics is perfect for a summer’s evening.

Red | Dominique Morel Fleurie | Gamay | Beaujolais | 2018 |  V  VG

Dominique’s philosophy is to make wines that he likes to drink. His Fleurie exhibits the floral perfumes that are characteristic of this Beaujolais Cru. From old bush-vines, aged up to 70 years, it has layers of perfumed ripe fruit – a charming example of this appellation.

Red | Château de Pierreux Brouilly 2018 | Gamay | Beaujolais | 2018 |  V  VG

Situated in the heart of Brouilly, the magnificent Château de Pierreux was built during the Renaissance. Intense purple colour, this wine has aromas of blackcurrant, redcurrant and blueberry. With sweet tannins, the palate is bursting with rich red fruit flavours and floral hints of iris and violet.
