Gifts for wine geeks!

We’ve got some fabulous gifts for wine lovers all available in-store…

The award winning Pourvin Light has just arrived, making decanting a bottle to remove sediment a doddle, with the light where it’s needed, the neck of the bottle. We’ve been using one in Salut for a couple of months, and we couldn’t do without it now.

“Pourvin Light is the ultimate decanting gadget; the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys fine wine. The idea is simple and the principles are sound. Pourvin Light slips onto a bottleneck and backlights the wine as it is poured into a decanter and removed of its sediment. Its usefulness and aesthetic appeal will immediately capture plenty of interest and support from sommeliers, wine makers and fine wine drinkers. With the corkscrew in decline, here is a thoroughly modern tool for a great wine drinking tradition. I can see tons of people using it!”

Raise a glass, the uks best wine bars – Sunday Times

The Sunday Times listed us this week in its article on the UKs best wine bars, we’re pleased as punch, so we thought that we’d share it with you.

Here’s what they said:

Salut Wines
“This sophisticated bar and wine shop, winner of Decanter magazine’s small retailer of the year, has Henriot champagne and manzanilla en rama sherry by the glass — and that’s before you tackle the 32 wines in their Enomatic machines. The decor is as slick as the drinks list and there are good craft beers and small-batch spirits. Even the sandwiches and platters are urbane: goat’s cheese and prosciutto, or hummus, baba ghanoush and sun-dried tomatoes.”
